The White Bellied Sea Eagle is an important coastal bird species. Their

nesting areas in Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts need

monitoring to ensure their safety. SNM documented their nests during 1996

to 2000. After our last study, 2–3 massive cyclones hit the Konkan coast,

destroying many trees that supported their nests. This project will help

identify if their population is stable or under threat due to human activity or

habitat loss. The data collected will help plan conservation actions and raise

awareness about their protection.
