The Whitebellied Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster) is thinly but widely distributed and is listed as vulnerable in the Indian Red Data Book.

  • There was no data available on the status of this species hence SNM carried out the survey along the 164 km coastline of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra during 1996-97 and 1997-98.  Our team located 62 nests during this survey.
